that is too little, maybe USD 100 K would be more like it.
even if you migrate to another place, they are not likely to allow you to
work for a few months to half a year or beyond.
what about living expenses ? immigration fees ? agent fees ? airticket ?
any family members going too ?
is there an amount you have to place with them, sort of like a bond ?
all of this has to be taken in consideration...
just my 2 cents

Actually I tought of getting a job first then stay back there for some
time, retire then come back to bolehland (hell I'm just saying!). Anyways
lets drop the subject, I'm just too naive right now...Maybe an hour of
google search about this can clear things up.

You want imported car?
First, you work hard and earn money (or become a Councillor).
Govt then takes away some in the form of income tax.
Before car arrives Port Klang, importer pays crony abt RM20K for AP.
Car arrives at Port Klang, pay import duty of 50% (non-Asean CBU) or 20%
(Asean CBU). Say, RM30,000 for 1,821cc conti car. That becomes RM45,000.
Then, pay excise duty. 90% for <1800cc, 120% for 1800-2000cc, 150% for
>2000cc. So, from RM45K, becomes RM99,000.
Then pay sales tax 10% on price plus excise duty. RM99,000 + RM9,900 =
108900.
Don't forget the AP. So, RM128,900.
Local distributor need profit margin 15% to cover costs and justify
investment, so RM148,235.
Then you pay road tax some more.
Then you pay toll to use highway.
All this, for a car that landed in port, inclusive of shipping and
insurance, for just RM30,000 (also inclusive of manufacturer's profit).
Happy motoring.
