Before we had Proton, cars AND fuel were very affordable. Since 1985,
thanks to Tun Mahatir's Proton, car prices have been progressively jacked
up so that Proton can make massive profits from the rakyat. It is
unfortunate that world oil prices have gone up, and fuel costs more
nowadays. However, almost everyone else pays a lot more for fuel than we
do. But we pay a lot more for our cars than people in foreign countries.

Malaysians are a funny lot - we rather sacrifice on other things than
sacrifice the new car. That is why Tun M's govt. could jack up prices and
car sales still went up and up! So with all the money spent on cars,
little is left for other things in life.

So really it is not "how to afford nice car when everything goes up?". It
should really be "how to afford everything else when car prices don't
come down?"

3k is only enough if you're single and still chasing girls.

A familty (with kids !!??!) with 3k ? You better pray your father give you
a house to live in.

u live in rural area like kampung. in kl, everything expensive except the
offer items in the hypermarket.. :) Never think of marry or having
children in kl if ur household income is 3k... never never think of
getting a nice car too.. 3k only allow you to drive a outdated wira or

My 2ct worth suggestion is stop changing yr very frequent. A well maintain
car (offcourse not Proton lah, not even a year, all funny sounds appear)
could serve you better for as long as 15 years!

Why changing yr car every 2 or 3 years? when yr budget is really ngam-ngam
only. Show-off?, then you observe the pain loh. There is a famous local
phrase "biar mati eksen, jadi mati eksiden"Big Smile

True, it's not totally our fault. Blame the gov? well, majority voted
them!Angry

The answer is time. If you don't behave like 'people got I also want,
right now', you can buy a nice car. Just save $$ for few years until you
got 50% or more $$ for downpayment for the car you want. Paying 10%
downpayment will end up with dreaming a car, cuz you can't afford to pay
the monthly installment and other cost like maintenance, fuel and etc.
Learn how the previous 2 generations people do thing.

if malaysians only had to pay half of what they are now paying in car
instalments then this country would be much better off as other sectors
of economy will grow.

Now malaysian ringgit RM50 just like 10 years ago RM10.

*Expensive car(but low quality and second highest price on this planet
after Columbia)

*Expensive house (also low quality with seem like 1000 years long house
loan)

*The road full of toll.(plus a lot of killing hole in middle of road)

*No manner and unpolite goverment employee( even u pay them for work)

*All the menteri-menteri are rich, but how their money come from(mostly
sxuck from 'rakyat pocket')

*In malaysia if you got RM100000 to invest then you have to lost 30% to
the goverment(mainly under table) before you can start your project. So,
nothing you can start because already not enought money.
that's mean before you start your project,u already lost.

*Malaysia should be second richest country after Brunei.

So, conclusion is the time to change the goverment. We don't want un-
educated monkey mentery in the Malaysian goverment.

U have to know what you have to do in next election.

Let eat world cake, not your own make cake only.
