Just bought a yr 1999 Vitara.
Pls help on the:
1) Can't find the lever to open the bonnet. where it is?

2) The automatic gear shift can shift anywhere even without the key
inserted. Seem like the gear shift P lock mechnism being modified. How to
fix back?

3) Notice the car Jerk when shift to R, D. Normal or what is wrong?

CMNG,
So the gear shift can be shifted with key inserted is normal, is designed so?
I think this is dangerous!

Not really a danger here, you can try having the gear shift at D or R, you
will notice that you cannot start the car without having the gear shifted
to either N or P. The engine will not even crank at all.

My car also jerk when shift, it is by design, not a problem with the car.
probably the gear box is more rugged in design. not really like those so-
called 4WD that are built for town use.

Do you frequently use the "Power" auto gearbox button ?
