Hi icez & speed3,
I just got the bike yesterday morning. I have a question. What is ur
rpm at idling? When I look at mine, it's below 1000 rpm. I asked the
owner, is the tachometer working. He said never a problem with it.
Well the reason I asked is, previously with two other EL250 at the
shops, at start, it is about 1500 rpm idling. I checked the manual, but
all it says is below 1800 rpm.

mine is about 1000. previously it was lower, around 800. but as it gets
older it has to be set higher to get a stable rpm. But then as long as
the rpm is stable (rpm needle stays put, not fluctuating) it is OK.
obviously if the idle rpm is higher, fuel consmptn goes up and more heat
generated during stop. So we want it lower. but if too low, the engine
easily stalls.

Hi bmiph,
Mine is about 1250rpm.
I think icez is correct as quoted by him "As long as
the rpm is stable (rpm needle stays put, not fluctuating) it is OK".
My opinion is to set it to as low as possible until the idling is stable
(no fluctuation) & the engine does not stall easily during idling.
Hope that will help. Enjoy your ride!

Hi folks,
just fyi. So far after monitoring the FC, it's about 25 km/liter.
Roughly 7 cents/km. Readings obtained after 167 km, 180 km, 192 km
mileage.
And I know the reserve is 2 liters, how many liters of fuel do we have
from full tank? Is it 11 liters? If so, take out the reserve, then it's 9
liters. So can go to about 225 km before need to turn to reserve.

Hi bmiph,
I have tried mine & it was about 230km before switching to reserve. I have
use the reserve a couple of times before.
But one rather strange thing I want to tell. About 1 month ago I used my
bike up to about 245km and still bike did not go to reserve. Then I did not
use bike for about 6 days (bike park under shade in front of house).
Then one morning found bike difficult to start - don't know what made me
switch to reserve, manage to start the bike but after less than 1km, bike
stop & found ran out of fuel. Many times previously while on reserve bike
can go definitely more than 1km. Maybe during the 6 days not used most of
the fuel got evaporated - fuel being at almost reserve & minimum inside
tank. Anyway it was an experience. Nowdays don't want to wait untill
reserve before filling up - fill up when reaching about 180-200km.
Thanks

Hi folks,
I have an issue with my EL250. When start from cold, no problem. One
crank, start. But when engaged first gear, let go clutch...the engine
straight away drop the rpm and died......I tried revving the engine all
the way to 4000 rpm, only when it's near to 4000 rpm it won't die when
clutch is release.....why??. But then the engine screams harshly becoz
the rpm too high liao......idling rpm is at 900 rpm
This will happen even if engine is after 25 km run with just 10 mins
engine off!! But when at traffic light, no such issue...luckily,
or else kena start repeatedly baru boleh lepas 1st gear....pls help
anybody!!

Hi bmiph,
Your problem look strange. I have no problem with mine. Initially during
the earlier stages of riding this bike, had this similar problem but found
it is the safety lock out feature of the kick stand. Sorry cannot help you
here. Hope you will find out the problem & please let us know the solution.
Thanks
