just to share.

there are a few versions of cb400. started with big project, then ver r,
version s.

later came the vtec models from 99 onwards. for vtec, there are 3
versions.

specI, vtec activated at 7k rpm
specII, vtec activated at 6350rpm

and the latest spec III that comes with led tailights.
vtec activated at 6350rpm for 1st to 5th gear, and 7k rpm at 6th gear.

SuperFour now at RM40,000? Blardy hell...

I'd get a GSXR750-WT for that kind of money and still have some left over.

hey guys,
i'm a msian working in singapore...
i heard you all talking about super4...

well, i riding one of it now.... recently i bought a brand new VTEC
spec1, and it served me well for 3yrs... now i trade into VTEC spec3
which is the lastest version of hyper vtec... it cos me ard SGD12k OTR...

this piece of HONDA japan made machine is really good, economical and not
to mention, power... but compare to bigger bike, super4 is nothing la...

mileage wise, my older VTEC 1 is better than VTEC 3, cos it open the
valves earlier than the predecesor... anyway, its ard 20 to 30km fuel
mileage difference... spec1,2,3 full tank 18L almost can run for 400km...
maintenance??? only regular servicing such as change oil, filter, iridium
plugs, air filter and X-ring chain and sprocket... this will serve you
well if you do it regularly...servicing of carburator??? no need la...
dont ever touch the carb... or else minor hickups will occur...

VTEC1 and VTEC2 is almost the same in design, the only difference is the
VTEC2 opens at 6,350rpm and the HISS security...the earliest version
opens at 6,750rpm...

last time i ever owned a blackbird fuel injection model, this beast is
really fast and furious, but maintenance wise, it cost a bomb for me to
repair and maintain... i ever rode it back to IPOH, clocking 240km/h...
finally i give up and downgrade to VTEC...

wat i suggest if you want to get a VTEC, maybe VTEC1 or VTEC2 will do cos
its not worth to get the lastest ver in msia... cos too expensive to
purchase new import bike in msia...Wink

sorry for typing too long...
hope it wont annoy you guys, from my riding experience...

Disapprove

the manual says 6750rpm, but me and my friends only feels the vtec kick in
at 7k rpm. btw, are you at the popular singapore forum too? wats your nick?
