Too busy sorting out the darned problems that came standard with this car
to bother with modifications just yet - ha ha!
But once I do sort out the remaining problems, first on the list is the
installation of a cool air intake for the engine. Its really really
underpowered compared to my much older Saga Megavalve (carb version).
The ONLY upgrade I've done so far for the car is swapping the headlamp
bulbs from the standard units to the new Phillips BlueVision bulbs - they
look great and mimic those HID lamps really well.

Seriously, I agree with you, g88 - my 12 year old carb-powered Megavalve
auto 1.5i Saga (which I still own) can climb hills so much better then my
3 month old Wira SE, though the Wira looks so "garang" in its bodykit and
sports exhaust...ha ha! In the Saga, you just press lightly on the
accelerator, and you get good pick up. On the Wira, you really have to
press the accelerator pedal almost all the way to the floor before the car
even starts to move.....cant even feel the 9% power increase Proton claims
this new Wira has....wonder whether we got cheated (again) by Proton!

Not a bad idea at all, actually. Wira SE's are actually pretty good
looking cars, and I already see a kind of "friendly wave" attitude amongst
Wira SE owners when they run into each other. Maybe someone should start
this. It'll also let owners exchange info on problems that are common to
the SE model, notably the bodykit and the gearbox that is never 100% right
when it leaves the factory.
