hello eg8, tak aper jika masuk..the more the merrier...a lot has happened
and yeah from putra, i decided on a second hand GTi but then my cousin,
whom is working for a 2nd hand car dealer says that the GTi his company
took up, looks good on the outside, but the accident has already reached
the engine...so...looks like no luck..anyway, i have also been asked by my
parents to take up my dad's 96 EK, and i don't think i want it coz
interior and exterior wise, a lot needs to be done about it coz he didn't
take good care of the car..the only good thing left is the engine and this
car has just been to KL twice..i don't have much choices now except for a
second hand waja, or putra, or gti (which i doubt my mum likes coz of the
manual tranny)..but then dunno leh, maybe they are considering the E36
318i from my dad's friend..problem here is also because good second cars
are hard to find especially the GTi, who would want to sell that 'ultimate
driving machine' if it hasn't been trashed..right?? Wink

ktyper, you should not be seeing things that way babe. so, how la? which
one are you taking? if i were you i'd get the ek, gorgeous as well as
powerful. take it now and mod it later. however, my next option would be
a putra, if and if i do not own a bravo la. hehe. anyway, my friend's
putra is still for sale.

subsonique, u sound offended la..if i say anything wrong, sorry
ya...anyway i really really appreciate the feedback from all you guys, it
turns out after all i might be winding up with the sgti as i got news
from my cousin that if i get the BMW, i might be able to get the loan but
then that's the last one coz it's almost 10 yrs and when i try to sell it
later, i am in deep s h i t...surprisingly, 2 gti's have been traded into
his car dealership and according to him, one is driven by auntie used to
take kids around and she's tired of driving a manual, so she's opting for
the auto tranny, as for the other guy, he's a bank manager, who changed
for a 98 BMW, so dunno la, hopefully the cars are good..then i can
finally stop hunting..

KTypeR84,
You are lucky ler, still a student and have chance to get a car of your
own choice Smile btw, make your wise choice, and do not regret it
later.btw, whatever car you may buy, do consider these : your
budget, maintenance, fuel, what is the depreciation value, do u like it or
not,etc etc. weight down all the pros and cons and you make your own
decicion.we may only can give you advices but you make your final call. do
not rush things ; do not been clouded by what ppl's said, make some extra
research and then you made you own choice. simple , but actually hard to
do.
good luck. i don't have any idea about Beemers so i can't give you any
idea what's the maintenance , fuel, etc etc. however, i think our good
fellows in BMW forum might help you.
and sub, udah la promote bravo ko Big Smile tak abih abih! weh, dgr si Khai
angkat Punto eh? Cabriolet ka? Big Smile
cheers!

haha, yeah eg8...i started off with the kenari which was really..erm...
{flame barrier on} painful to drive, cannot speed too fast, cannot corner
too much, and lastly, painful leg muscle and backache due to the lousy
support of the seat and unadjustable steering column, so now..heheh time
to upgrade lor...anyway, i will be getting a part time job ma, so can
contribute to my parents for the monthly installment..oh yeah, bmw, dunno
leh, i sat in my frenz car that day, though 10 yrs, the car was as quiet
as anything...imagine a proton 10 yrs Blackeye.. anyway, yeah i will try to
make a good choice..but for now? hehehhe SGTi is on my top list!! no
others liau, unless i get the eg or ek..

haha ktyper, relax babe, never offended, the short reply was due to my
boss being around my workstation here. that's about all. but i was
pretty ok, honestly trying to sell my friend's putra even though i feel
regret somehow letting it go to someone else that i do not know. the
car's damn good, man. and about the beamer thingy, well, if you
wanna get a continental, you should not wanna sell. it's a pretty good
ride i can say. the comfort and stuff, the handling, despite the age.
that's about all continental you'd wanna know. it lasts.

haha eg8, bravo la babe. it's gorgeous le. say it isn't so?

hey subsonique! don't call me babe la... me also a guy la!!!
hahah..anyway, i already found my kar..hehe already placed deposit lor..
the gti is quite okay la..i didn't drive it coz skills suck, so i just
sit behind and listened, wat i noticed is that there's some vibration, on
the floor pan when my cousin rev's the engine before changing it, besides
that, no rattles or anything. One more thing is, the owner chromed his
original gti rims, is there anyway to 'de chrome' it? it looks nice but
some of the chroming has come off la...and there's a little dent at the
rear, near the GTi and handling by lotus emblems..can it be fixed at
minimal cost? Besides that, the engine is really clean and this car has
only hit 30k plus on the meter. 53k...isit worth it ??
