Wah, Citronking....the Citroen salesman, you got something against Kangoo
ah?? Pity the rest of the world don't see it as such, since there are
more Renault Kangoos worldwide than there are Citroen Berlingos. Its
true...no joke. Go to Europe and you'll see. I was in Italy recently and
saw so many Kangoos everywhere there. Not a Berlingo in sight. Numbers
don't lie.
There is no Berlingo with automatic transmission. There will never be
one.
Plus Kangoo are all fresh stocks from the factory here in KL. Not old
ones produced long ago (last year stocks perhaps) and shipped here.
And with Tan Chong's after sales back-up....the reason to buy a Kangoo
over a Berlingo is so clear.

citronking..... when you sell cars do not shoot yourself in your foot.
You yourself said that Citroen's, Peugeots and Renaults use the same auto
gearboxes ! Refer to this thread;

I know that the Berlingo is a manual version, but are you now saying that
all other Citroen cars which are automatics will also fail because they
use the same auto trans as Renaults ! I surely hope not....

hi ,
from my observation, for continental cars with automatic transmission,
normally the gearbox will give some problem around 170,000kms mileage for
4HP14 gearbox by ZF, fitted on 405,xantia and zx. that should be around
ten years of normal driving.even japanese gearbox are not spared. perdana
v6 auto gearbox are known to be problematic not even 17,000kms. even
aisin gearbox(japanese manufacturer) for fiat marea 1.6 last longer than
that. so, auto gearbox does give problems, no matter where it was
manufactured. that is why europeans prefer manual gearbox and don't tell
them about traffic jams, they knew better(normal malaysian excuse for
buying autobox).
it is known that some kia carnival gearbox failed at 50,000kms. even
toyota estima box failed at 75,000kms. for me i prefer manual, both my
cars have the same BE3 5-speed manual gearbox.no problem at all.

Zulfa,
Agree 100% with you. Unfortunatle in Malaysia almost all continental cars
are sold with auto gear boxes. Real downer. Personally prefer a manual.
Better power, control and more reliable in the long run.

Hello all...need some feedback and advice...
My heart says..."Go get the car" ... but
Friends says..."NO! You will regret it as the cost of maintenance is high"
I love the look of the Kangoo and the space is wonderful!
I now owns a Getz 1.6 and according to hubby who test drive the Kangoo it
is great for a 1.4! I am not good with car nor the engine or whatever
techincal or non-techincal stuff u guys were talking about. However, I
really would appreciated it if all you new Kangoo owners will "enlighten"
me abit. Why i wanted to change to a Kangoo was due to space and of
course the look! I have 4 dogs to transport and the boot space is great!
Anyways, whats holding me back is the maintenance cost that was "WARNED"
by friends. The other reason is the resell value of my 1.6 Getz.
Help please!
P.S: JJL, mind letting me know who your SA is as I would like to check
with them as well as the current SA is not being very helpful mine is
based in PJ. Thanks

dogies, if you are in the Klang Valley, visit the Renault showroom in PJ
Section 14. They should have the Kangoo periodic maintenance cost
tabulated. I enquired about the Scenic II cost and the salesman produced
a spreadsheet itemizing the servicing cost. I was shocked to see how
reasonable the pricing was ! By the way, I also own a 1.6 Getz (2003
model). Its value has really dropped since the the launching of MyVI.
Anyway, decided to purchase the Scenic II 1.6. Should be delivered real
soon.....

Hi...
Wa...trotsky, got ur Scenic II?! Test drove once, 4 dumbs up! But no $$$ to
buy one so had to satisfy with my Kangoo.
Hi...dogies, got my Kangoo from the SA at Ampang, good service.
Regarding the maintenance cost of the Kangoo, I had done some calculation
based on the published maintenance cost from TC on the first 60k mileage-
7cts per km. FC for normal drive(auto)-13cts per km = RM0.20 per km. Very
reasonable. Of-course we can't compare with those cars that have their
maintenance done by roadside bengkel.
