Why own an Opel?
I had a fontera before....I am glad I sold it.
Spark Plug from Europel is 5x more than Bosch Malaysia!!
Coupling is 4X more than what I brought in from SG (including postage and
duties).
Timing belts doesn't last....seen many Ecotecs with blown engine due to
timing belt breakage.
Main radiator hose always leaks....mine started to leak since NEW(during
warranty)...changed 6 pcs during warranty....no long term solution by GM
or Europel....I found one and never had a leak for 2 years.
Mechanics in Malaysia....very few...if you have a road side break down,
call for a Tow Truck...no point thinking that the problem can be
rectified by the road.
The ONLY 1 good thing about Opel (like other continental cars) is the
hnadling.
But why Opel?? there are so many other choices to give you similar, if
not better, handling, ride and comfort.
I switched to another German made and never look back.

ZZR,
I am not sure if the dealer of Chevrolet act the same as
Europel....Europel rips off Opel Owners. The prices of parts were
exhorbitant and the service was POOR. They didn't know about Opel.
Just my 2 cents.

Well they charged me RM30!!!!??? Crazy. But the
problem occurs more frequently now. Have already
changed the fuel pump relay but still no avail. Have
also ordered a crank shaft sensor from UK. Hopefully
this is the cause of the problem as I also have
intermittent rpm problem (like sometimes not moving at
all). Well will keep u guys updated.
I love my Calibra (except for these problems). It
handles ok for a coupe of its size. It won't out
handle a 200sx but with the more boot and rear
passanger spare it is really very convenient. It is
150hp and I do have ideas to increase its performance
but it will all have to wait till i sort this problem
out - I plan to also change the complete suspension
bushes - that will be later as it costs quite a lot
too.
