Well I suppose it's possible that VW/Audi are holding DSG technology very
close to their chest. Having said that, royalty payments and better
economy of scale arising from the use of DSG technbology by other car
manufacturers could help VW/Audi recoup R&D and investment costs. Anyway,
I suppose we would never know what lurks in the mind of VW/Audi.
As an aside, imagine, if you will, Proton getting DSG technology had the
VW/Proton alliance gone ahead...but that's another story.
Meanwhile, to the original poster of the query "selespeed: how long will
it last?", you might want to also pose that question in
www.italiaauto.com, the Malaysian Italian car enthusiasts' club. I'm sure
you'll get useful responses.

SB+SS :
many thanks for the wonderful technico information
SB :
SB merely humbly seeks more information on systems like these

SS :
just quietly listening and looking from afar ...
Have A Nice Sunday
