Hi Fellas, I have recently acquired a e34 525i 1991, but not without some
problem la. I figure that old cars will have wear and tear parts to be
replaced. Hope you guys can help out...
My gearbox has a thumping sound when the car came to a halt. It is like
disengagin problem or something. Heard from mechanic that it requires
replacing. Got any place where I can get hold of a used one? A new one
costs a bomb.
And also each time when I accelerate, I can hear a ratling sound from the
center of the car. Apparently it is the "long shaft"??? Now sure I got it
right form the mechanic. it sounded like that. Need replcaing again.
Furthermore, I want to lower my car and now doing research on lowering
springs and absorbers. Any recommendation? I have checked out 911Zentrum
and noticed the Swedish made springs... what about tein, and how much do
they cost? Do they come in a set of 4 or per piece. 911zentrum quoted
RM510 but not sure for set or piece...
Appreciate your input for my 525i restoration project.

There's a guy in bmwclub.com changed his e34 auto gearbox for 6k++.
The long shaft replacement..I think you need fork out 1.5k for a new
one..If you want to.
Lowering kit.911 zentru quoting me RM650 for a set of lowering
spring...forgot what brand....But i think B&G is the cheapest one...Tom's
of zerotohundred.com used it on his past E34 ride

Thanks Bazet, appreciate your feedback. Will pay Zentrum a visit then.
Went to Corbi Deco for a quote this afternoon for my roof lining, and
fumbled on BMW Carbon Fibre badge!!! It was actually bought by the owner
of the shop but it didn't fit his e46, because the back badge is actually
a smaller size. I took advantage and bought it over from him for a damn
good price man!!!
i also think their floormat is also a good price and they look really
good. I think I will also consider either the carbon fibre trimming or
the titanium trimming for my interior. something different la.
I think I have too much in my project, must take it stage by stage.
otherwise over budget already.
Thanks.

Hi, Guys,
I am having the same model and wondering any one of you have fixed an auto
cruise onto this model? Traveling on highway with the heavy pedal is not a
joke for continuous driving of 6 hours!
Does anyone know the auto cruise from Proton can be fixed onto a bimmer??
Thanks!
