I disagree with 440CI,

10 years old car is like car going to explode anytime.

My friend Honda Accord, around 7-8 yrs...oledi spent thousands repairing
the car until he also kenot tahan oledi.

Sometime it is about good car or not, whether it is worth to invest or
not.

10 years car is ready to explode? I don't think so unless you carry some
bomb inside

Hi folks,

Thanks for the feedback. I've decided to go for V-Kool-ing for comfort
sake. Sound proofing and ICE can wait indefinitely :)

Since I don't feel any lack of power from the engine; the overhaul should
be unnecessary. I'll prolly pour in a bottle of the STP fuel injector
cleaner as the car is getting rather high on FC. Since we're in the same
topic, anyone knows where to tune the car ah? Haven't tune it before leh.
Dunno whether it'll do any good or not.

angel2004: I'm not sure how your friend drives his/her car, but there's
really nothing wrong with my 10 year old car. Only thing is that the
rubber seals around the doors and windows are rather worn out after so many
years under the sun. Anyone knows where to change this? :)

hi fulat;

good choice and wise move. for tuning, since so long u didn't send it for
tuning better to have toyota guys in umw to do it with proper equipment.
for rubber seal, u can buy original toyota rubber seals from outside and
have those technicians fixed them while same time doing the tuning.

good luck

yapvc: Any idea how much they'll charge? The SEG I'm driving has only been
in a Toyota SC twice :)

Same here. I considering of changing the rubber seals in my SEG. It has
gone harden over this few years. I can't change to another car because of
finacial problem. Is it worth it or not?Big Smile

I read somewhere that maintaining an old car in the long run is still
cheaper than buying a new car. On that basis, it would seem to be a good
idea to do up your SEG to make it more comfortable and maintain it
properly, rather than save the money to buy a new car, especially since
the SEG was actually a good car for its time and can still hold its head
high today!

if you drive the car in a normal way and use it as a transportation
machine, then maintain it as it will save you a lot of money than buying a
new car. even assuming RM1,000-2,000 per year , you still save compared to
buying a new car which you can easily lose RM5-10,000 each year on
depreciation. and if you have to chnage car, buy secondhand.

btw, i am using my 13-year old mazda , mileage over 210,000 already, still
running strong . i drive at reasonable speed - 80-120 on the highway and
60-80 elsewhere , no need for performance lah ... and the beauty of
driving an old car, you will have less pressure on finding a "good parking
lot, no heartache should the car get some minor scratched or dents ,

planning to use it as long as it can run , maybe consider another car in
