what happened to the mitsubishi evolution IIV and Nissan Skyline GT-R , i
mean the new GT-R which is going to be launched next year ?
both car don't look aggresive also , both looks bulky and looks somekind
of european look . compared both to the previous model , evo 6 and the
current GT-R i think i like the previous model than the new model .
i am wondering why both japanese sportcars design became so bad . when
people talk about japanese sports car , they talk about GT-R and EVO , but
i think it will fade away for the next few years as both japanese cars
doesn't look japanese anymore , not aggresive .

You're crazy. Big Smile the new EVO VII is the most capable EVO to date next to
the highly focused EVO RS. As for the new GT-R it's gonna be using a 3.5l
V6 from now onwards. Better or worse, I dunno. But I can tell you the G35
Coupe (aka future R35 Skyline) is very capable for a luxury sports coupe.
Then again, I wouldn't know since I haven't driven the previous gen
Skylines to compare. Only thing I am afraid of is the low seat high-back
design of the G35 which might hamper rear view. Same as the Z too. TImes
are changing my friend. Fluid-like designs are en vogue. Not blocky
squarish models. Parked side by side, my GC8 Impreza looks dated compared
to the latest design (not bugeye version). Oh well, mine's lighter. Big Smile
Cool

what i am crazy .
i mean the design , compare the current GT-R , EVO IIV with new GT-R and
old EVO V , u will find out both car changed from aggresive and hardcore
look to luxury and sporty look . look at subaru , the imprezza is still
looks hardcore enough . i really wish that both mitsu n nissan will use
their older model as benchmark for their next design or else , the
japanese car legend will just fade away .
evo is not going to be evolution anymore and gt-r is not going to be a
gran turismo - racing but super luxury - sport .

Well gotta move with the time bud. THe new R35 will have more hp and
technological doodads than the R34s could ever imagine. Rumour has it that
it would be a 3.5l turbo pumping out a "claimed" 320hp. I never liked the
new EVOs so it doesn't matter about the styling. But I do know that it is
a great performer.
We don't know if the new Skyline's geared for luxury or GT. For all we
know it might come out with two flavous much like the 350Z that has a
grand touring model (5spd auto, leather all over....) and a track model
with all the light weight stuff and Brembo brakes with cloth seats.

i know have to keep up to date . but , it is better if they design the car
but still remain the aggresive look which is already the benchmark for
skyline and evo .

well perhaps those designers think the new style is the "benchmark" in
terms of design and aerodynamics. Anyways I will reserve my judgement
until the new R35 GT-R is officially out. Come on lottery ticket!!!

The GT-R need to penetrate the American market, thus it's
slighly "compromised". That's my thot on it.

I don't think it has to be more compromised. I think it has to be more
brutal to compete with the muscle cars. Thats why they're saying the GT-R
will boast 400+hp and will dispense with the 280PS agreement altogether.
Only compromise would be in terms of pedestrian safety and CA emmission
laws though the new engine will have no problem meeting the latter.

don't forget it is very hard and expensive to get that RB26DETT to reach
high hp levels with the so-called piss petrol found in US especially
California. So bigger displacement means easy hp/tq using lower octane gas.
I don't think all new designs are ugly or less brawny. IMHO the G35 Coupe
(aka Skyline R35 in luxury form) is very nice looking. I prefer it over
the bmw 330Ci. I think the 350Z looks way better than the old 300zx which
is so blocky. I guess it's that organic look that imitates life in motion
eh? What do I know. I nearly faild my "Lukisan" back in my secondary
school days. Big Smile
well the 280hp has always been just a "gentleman" agreement. Already, the
USDM STi has reached 300hp/300tq.... who really knows the true power of
that car? And that's running on piss petrol in US too. With high octane
and increased timing, 320..330hp maybe?
