Hi guys,

I`m driving one of the continental at present. I `m atracted to the 147
but since I live far from KL and heard a lot of "scary" stories about
maintaining an Alfa to compare with my present car, it put me in a deep
hard thinking of owning one. So what are the pros and cons to be
considered before I proceed? I think this is the best forum for me to get
the right informations.

hi moyuz, and welcome to the forum. buying an alfa can be the best thing
to ever happen to you, or the worse thing u can go thru in ur life. it
all depends on what kind of person u are (nothing at all to do with the
car).

pls tell me ur Top 5 reasons for wanting a 147 and i'll tell u if u shd
get an Alfa. :)

LOL! all the above are true, except #3. my car not slow ok! at least
faster than kancil la (std, kancil turbo kalah la!) hehehe...

moyuz, seriously tho, if ur looking for a reliable day-to-day car and
would really prefer a toyota except that the 147`s sexy lines caught ur
eye, i can tell u now that ur prolly better off with a toyota. most ppl
who buy alfas for looks only and are not prepared for the ownership
experience usually wind up having a hard time of it. thats like a bunny
skier heading out to the black diamond slope for the first time. u dont
blame the slope if the skier manages to get himself killed do u?

all alfas will require lots of attention and tender loving care. much
more so than toyotas. u have to be diligent about checking the oil, u
have to be "in harmony" with the car to know if she`s about the break
(like knowing if ur wife/gf is having pms on a particular day, its almost
like mind reading) and then fixing the problem before it breaks. wear and
tear parts will also require replacement more often (tho i suspect that
this is due to the way most alfistis drive their cars. toyotas would have
exploded long before.)

in exchange, she will give you a driving experience like no other. she
will talk to you when you`re at the wheel, you will feel as if the car
was made just for you, that passengers are an annoyance to be avoided.
everyday, after u park her in ur porch, u will turn back for a last look
before closing the door, just to make sure she is comfortable for the
night. and when she is sick, u will feel sick along with her. everybody
will gawk and gape at ur car and u will feel as if ur walking into a
restaurant with a supermodel at ur arm. ppl will want to be like u but
they wont dare, and that makes u different and brave.

alfa ownership is an emotional experience. r u up for it, moyuz? :)

NSX, you should use the East-West highway in the east coast. Good place to
cruise. It's more than 100 miles. More like 500 miles.
