Just saw the news on NTV7...scary. Big pile of rocks covered part of the
road on NKVE. Dunno whether are there any cars buried underneath.

Fortunately, it occurred early in the morning of a public holiday. If it
had been a normal working day, I don't think we would be so lucky! As it
is, the PLUS monitoring team reported that a car did pass the stretch
shortly before the rocks came down...

Wow. The people in that car must've been thanking their lucky stars all
the way back. It's good to hear no one was caught underneath. But man oh
man, it'll be a great inconvenience now that public holidays are over.

I was coming back from the south yesterday and was puzzled by a notice at
the side of the road where the turn-off to KLIA is (from the Seremban
Hwy) and it said that motorists should use the Sg Besi route to go to
Ipoh. I thought it very strange till I got home and learnt about the
rockfall.
Actually the authorities have forgotten the Cheras by-pass to
Ampang/Melawati. That is accessible from the Sg Besi toll and can take
people to the Selayang area (Batu Caves) from which they can get to Sg
Buloh or go through Rawang.

Thanks so much to my wifey she had saved the day...we might have balik
kampung to IPOH from Puchong early in the morning around 6.45am and might
have been eaten alive by those monstrous rocks instead we had involved in
domestic dispute and left the house 15minutes late...

I don't think Middle Ring Road 2 is a good alternative road from Sg. Besi
to North as there are massive road diversions around batu caves due to
construction of overhead bridges along MRR2. On one Saturday morning, I
was stuck there for more than 20 minutes queuing all the way between batu
caves interchange and sri gombak. LDP would be a better alternative.
