Hi. Not very familliar with VW's as I have always been driving Italians. Anyway, I have this urge to purchase a VW Tiguan.......hence I went window shopping and viewed a few units only to confuse myself. A few units I tested had this DSG logo on the gear knob with black leather interior - so I reckon this is with the DSG system. BUT is this the same DSG system as the ones which had problems some years back? A few other that I tested had a different gear knob, Tan hide interior and with a 4Motion logo. So what is the difference between this and the DSG? Which should I stay away from? Appreciate your feedbacks. Cheers!

4 motion is 4WD model, just like Mazda or Honda they have 2WD and 4WD models.

If not mistaken, have auto and DSG. And DSG is the dry clutch 7 speed the one with the problem....

Any more opinions on Tiguan? I'd like to get some of you guys' reviews about it. I am not sure what car I want to get when I have the money, but it's definitely going to be a Volkswagen!

I test drove the new tiguan few weeks ago, quite decent esp the HL w/ its display, power boot etc. the headlamp cluster also quite good looking w/ very bright DRL and main lights.

New Tiguan is now with 6 speed wet clutch DSG, no more 7 speed dry DSG.....
