Hi all,

I am planning to purchase a second hand car from a second hand car dealer.

I have been looking into the following choices:

1. Proton Satria Neo 1.6 (2009 and above model)

2. Proton Saga FLX (2010 and above)

3. Perodua Myvi

4. Perodua Viva

(They all have good condition, second hand cars priced @ 25k and below)

I have owned a second hand car before, which is Perodua Kancil. Over the years it has given me LOTS of problems, and I have had to spend quite a lot in repairs. Keeping that in mind, my 3 most important concerns which would help me decide are:

  • Price
  • FC (Comparing FC between Satria Neo and Myvi specifically)
  • Quality (not having to go for regular repairs due to issues etc.)

Another question I had, for Satria Neo specifically, is that, what is the difference between 2009, 2009 and 2010 models? For some reason, people had advised me to only look for Satria Neo 2009 model and above. However, the 2008 models and even 2007 look the same. Are there any issues or internal differences? Please let me know on this. (Satria Neo is my preference from the above so far)

I would appreciate any help on the queries above.I tried googling but could not find many reliable links as well. If some one has any links they could point me to, that would be helpful as well.

Thanks a lot!  ^_^

I doubt you can get good replies for all 4 cars from one person, unless he have used all 4 before. I suggest you go into their individual forum and ask more about the cars, meaning in Myvi forum for Myvi and so on.....

Actually I didnt want a lot of specific info on all models. Maybe perhaps just suggestions from people on what would the preference for the car be among those.

Even if I get a few views, should be ok. Atleast would give me an idea.

Thanks. :)

Proton Satria is 2 door, but should be easy to get parts. If 1.6 then the most powerful of the lot. Not sure if it suffers the same roof rust as the wira.

The Flx is a bit small, but then depends what you use it for. I have friends using, even one mod it for track play

Myvi is spacious but not very stable, Have a few friends using too, so far not much complaints, parts easily available

Viva also small, don't have any friend using. Probably slightly better then the kancil only

Thanks so much for the overview on all 4.

It pretty much matches my choice priorities.

I have narrowed it down to satria neo or saga flx. Moslty now depending on availability and prices.

This was helpful. Thanks a lot.! :)

You are welcome. I think the two cars of your choices should have plenty around. Go round and look for a good condition one.....
