Proper way to extend the wheels out is to get bigger offset rims, not use spacers. Spacers can give problems like wheel vibration and depending on how thick the spacer your wheel lug locking thread becomes less and that is dangerous.

As for springs it needs to be in tune with your absorbers. Short springs for lowering pair with your original long stroke absorbers will work differently. Probably the absorbers will give way first. One is the absorber works short stroke now and the stronger spring rebound, the absorber may not be able to cope.
Do properly or not do at all.... smile_tongue.gif

Offset to a limit. Original usually the wheel inside wheel arch, best mod is to bring wheel out until just inside wheel arch and that is usually about 5mm to max 10mm depending on your original wheels settings.
Too far out then will stress your wheel bearings.... smile_tongue.gif
