Nothing wrong with SM rated, newer SN rating can be more for environmental standard and does not mean the SN performance is better. And some SM and SN could be the same oil in new packing as the SM already meet the SN standard. They just need to send sample for testing and if pass can put new rating already...

Yup, seldom use the car no need FS oil. As I told my other friends, when use Group V FS on your Kelisa NA. Even manual stated SS also can or if you want Group 3 FS which is so much cheaper.

Bro. leongts & turbo, I still have in my storeroom 3.8 liters of Edge since my car's oil sump capacity is 4.2 liters. So guess I will have to stick with this oil for quite sometime.
Anyway, many thanks for your valuable input.

Is switching to Castrol Edge 5w-40 a better idea??
Well, this is always a hot topic... whatever commented is correct before... but let me put in what i know so far...
1. When car manufacturer recommended 6 or 12 months or 10k or 15k oci, so long the oil spec meet the car maker requirements the oil shall remains OK within the requiremnet.
2. Now on the lube company.. in order for them to provide certain warranty to the car maker, not only those oil need to meet the oil spec but most often, it was tested beyond the requirements mileage and they need to have some buffer in there.
3. How you drive... conditions you drive and how long you intend to keep the car is all the questions you need to answer before a straight answer. Therefore... as a rule of thumb... follow car maker recommend3d oci loh...
Cheers
