Greetings all...
Need some advise... I bought a Volvo S40 June 2013...
The problem is
1 - after the 1st 20k service, the aircond compressor makes a loud noise...compared to before servicing...
2 - There is a rattling sound underneath when the car cruises at 40km and rpm 2000... Even at 50km /60km the rattling sound comes on when the rpm touches 2000rpm... Checked with the mechanic at FA and they said it is the pinking sound... But personally it sound more like something is loose somewhere near the exhaust joint...
They seem unable to solve the problem... Can anyone assist me as I need a second opinion... The car is still under warranty...
Appreciate if anyone could suggest an honest & reliable Volvo mechanics... Heard there is one in Taman Tun...named Vasu...
Thank you for the advise...

Eh bro, car under warranty & you get shoved around by FA ? P*ndek, b*stards FA. Now you will know, first hand, the feelings when dealing with FA, p*kimak ars*holes - everyone there. Cardiologists would love FA as FA can give hypertension to their customers.
Switch to Clear Marque at Jln Ipoh, hopefully better service.
1) i suspect compressor oil tarak, refill gas needs to refill at least a little oil
2) lower arm / suspension system ?
Pray hard for no problem. Rejoice when warranty is over for you can service your car outside - many better mechanics than FA. Authorised svc centres only have 2 advantages:
a) the diagnostic equipments, and direct online ECU tweaking with sweden
maybe once a while a visiting mechanic from sweden to troubleshoot tough problems
Outside mechanic
- are as good (not all) with lower svc charges, negotiable as well for bigger jobs
- parts - ori volvo abt 50% lower, oem parts abt 70& lower (volvo does NOT manufacture every part of a car),
- if you are fortunate, honest mechanic (not like dealers where they need to hit monthly target- hahahhaa jokers, customers end up having to change unnecessary parts)
Word of caution : Always have FA's reply to you on what part is wrong in WRITTEN form (in black & white) as they may turn around & say otherwise - every complain from you must be typed into the service form. Keep your records properly so that you are prepared when you need to sue them.
Patience is a virtue in buying a volvo in Msia
