Hello
I have a major headache trying to get my Proton 2006 Gen 2 vehicle to start. It winds over, sounds like normal, has spark at the spark plugs, Injector pulse and if I feed power and earth to the fuel pump it has fuel at the fuel rail.
The fuel pump gets power supplied to it when cranking but the fuel pump does not operate. It must be earthed further up the wiring probably by the computer. It is a new Fuel pump. It has no fault codes in the computer. Does anyone know how to diagnose this fault? Please do not suggest silly things like replace the fuel filter.
Thanks

I wonder if any one knows where a true workshop repair manual can be downloaded from. I tryed the link from a very old post and it failed. I am thinking I need a full electrical/electronic test and layout manual. I searched for posts on workshop manuals but it seems to be a hard subject.

what repair or mod have been done recently?
have u try the spare key?if yours are equipped with the small chip immo,it could be faulty.also,u wont be able to start it with a duplicated key only without the immo.

Thanks for your thoughts. Much appreciated. I like the key idea, fits the prob really well. I tried it but sadly no joy. Also No mods or work has been carried out in recent times. I have trawled the internet and I am pretty sure this is not a one off problem with this model.

what do u mean by 'new fuel pump'.if the problem happen when the pump is install then the pump itself is the problem.some aftermarket pump do fail prematurely.

have u try swapping the ecu?ecu failure is a long shot but not impossible.

crank sensor or some called it top dead sensor could also cause this.it wont show a warning light or error code.this sensor is less than rm200 if not mistaken.it detect the rotation of the flywheel.famous problem with the waja 1.8 but rarely happen on campro powerplant.

getting a download manual is not helping it,
go meet ur nearest campro specialist, let them PDT diagnostic for you and see what the error code is all about.
there are some sensors u need to check such as crank sensor that can cause the car unable to start.
