I was thinking to get Audi tt recon maybe 2nd hand year around 07/08.
Can anyone share:
1. Is this car reliable?
2. What is the command problem?
3. Car quality?
4. Different between UK & japan spec?

I am driving a 08 UK Spec TT recon registered 2012.Known problem are gearbox and engine but you can always buy insurance and cover it. Maintenance cost for conti cars are as expected more than Japanese's. Fun powerful car to drive, loved it. Probably can get for RM160k for '08 now

Thks bro for the info, anyway, what is the problem u face for engine n gearbox, cost for maintanance higher by how many percent compare to Japanese car

hi bro, its hard to predict about the maintenance as it is a used car, all depending on the care of the previous owner. Good if you can get the service record of the car (UK or Jap). Comparing a conti and jap car maintenance, it is possible conti will cost u 3 to 4 times more if u r unlucky. Gearbox itself will cost you 5 digits for a new unit.

If you drive hard, then have top up engine oil. Normal oil change is around RM600. DSG gearbox is known problematic but nothing insurance of about RM3k/annum don't cover. The fun is worth it since the car price has dropped significantly the past 3 years. As expected of Audi, good built quality, material, engineering

Wow its sound great, but only the scary think is we can't know what will be the problem coming n probably it will huge bill unless like what bro xiper said look at the maintenance record if available.
