Being a frequent traveller around Malaysia with an average mileage of 5000km per month, with almost 5 hours in the car per day, everyone knows that a good comfortable ride with a nice ICE is very important to lessen the fatigue and make the journey more enjoyable, and I only have a mid class ride at my disposal.

At the same time, I am a person that like to test products one step at a time though by rational thinking better do one shot to save cost and time. In that sense I would be able to know what effect would each changes give. Sounds logical isn't it?

I heard about KLAuto few years back with their Autofoam and their good products but didn't had the chance to go to their fortress until recently.
By that time I already had my ride soundproofed almost entirely, and the result was a little tad lesser than what I expected it to be. Plus my ride became heavy smile_sad.gif (not really good for urban drive, but stable ride in highways).

Now back to the story, I finally got the chance to meet the guys when one of my friend sold me his ICE set and introduced me to KLAuto to setup everything for me. Talked to Desmond and had him to recommend me a good setup; just like a doctor who listens to his patient before prescribing the medicine (well, in this case is more like poison), he recommended the setup and explained to me the reason behind all his recommendation one by one, which you hardly get from other accessories shop (furthermore to say from the big man himself). Honestly I was rather overwhelmed by the price quoted at first, but given the assurance from my friend and Desmond's explanation, I decided to give my full trust to the guys to give me the world of my own in my ride, paying the premium for every cents worth. smile_approve.gif

And I was pleased that most of the installation was done by Hector as his workmanship clearly very professional and lets you know the things he will do in case some alteration needed to be done apart from the quotation.

And the whole thing was done till very late (with some complications created from my side), and Desmond was there to see through everything all the way. I was rather embarrassed to have the whole team work thru so late. smile_blush.gif

With my car soundproofed earlier on, it was very easy to spot the details in the music and it gets better and better when the speakers were running in. I was dancing and swinging to the music, literally in the car on the long journey back in the highway.

I had a few rattlings and minor issues which the Desmond gladly to get his team to solve it out when I drop by to his shop. Quite a few visits though. Talked about after sales premium service! smile_thumbup.gif

Ok that's only for the ICE part.

My next step was to reduced the road noise, and I have been eyeing on their Quietdrive + Roarbuster package for a while.

Most of his customers do this package first before going on to ICE, but I chose to do it opposite way because only from the music you will be able to notice the difference, of cos the road noise too, but I chose the former to benchmark.

I did the Quietdrive first to see on what level of frequency on the road it reduces. I recall one of his regular customers asked me why don't do the roarbuster along. I told him that I wanted to see the difference between the Quietdrive and Roarbuster one by one. And I saw the cheeky grin on Desmond's face when he heard that, haha.

First 5 days the difference was not noticeable, only 5th-10th days when the polymer was fully cured, the road noise was clearly toned down very much, even though I already had a set of very quiet tyres. Going on concrete highways, the growling lion tone under the car became kitty purr!  And I am starting to hear the missing notes from the music which I didn't even know it exists!

I had a trip to PD recently and it was raining very heavily. Along the highway and major roads from KL to PD, I heard nothing loud-to-annoy-much but my music and the rain drops on my windscreen and windows, as opposed to water splashes which usually can be heard at the wheel arches before treatment. Incredible!

With Quietdrive tested, only conclusion was that when going over the coarser tarmac surfaces, the growling was significant. It was then I decided that it is time to put in the Roarbuster, in which immediately the whole ride gotten even quieter. But that part still pending for more testing before I can feedback entirely.

In conclusion, these products really makes the impact and gives a run for its money. Like what Desmond says, the products sold are Bang for Bucks, plus he would not sell the products that doesn't work and RnD by himself.

Full trust on the man and his team is all that is needed so that they can do their magic. But of course, it also depends on your wallet too. But for me, at the end of the day, it is the long grin on the face matters most when you are on the road.

Bro, sounds like we have a lot in common. I too enjoy my ride a tremendous amount more with the same upgrades (ICE included) as you do. I've had an accident 4 weeks ago and have been without my ICE for that amount of time. Life has become incredibly depressing without my ICE.

I like that you noted how ICE setups work better with different materials. This has been true ... sometimes I go in ask for more this and that, and without touching my tuning, they "tweak" this and that with the sound proofing and voala! Magic! Lot of people probably know this, but seeing and hearing the difference for the first time for me was quite a revelation.

Mind to share what ICE setup you have? Would love to sample your sound if you're ever around KL.

U've got me 'poisoned'...am an ICE fanatic myself on my previous ride. Yet to start my 'project' on this new fella.
We should meet up at KL Auto for some of your 'poison'.

Cheers!

Bro, am getting back my ride from Honda tomorrow morning. I'll be at KL Auto as soon as I collect the car to put back all my audio 'poison'. I should be there right before lunch. You're welcome to it smile.gif

I am having passive setup at the moment bro.

Sure if I am around in kl and able to drop by to klauto will let you know here.
Then we will have Desmond's Pakistani breast milk tea, quoted from the man himself.
At the meantime I can learn from you with ur setup too.

Mine's an active setup all round tuned to play most types of music genres, built over a long time buying some new and some used components. I think Desmond would be a better teacher than I am. I only know how to enjoy music.
