Hi tonychoppa-i drive the ds4 which has same engine as c4- no problem whatsoever since i bought it in April. Fantastic car and fabulous engine!
The ford is also nice- i have the focus 2007 too but their a bit thirsty on fuel- maybe the new models are better.

I am not 2011 c4 owner, but in my opinion there should be no question on the reliability if both are new, and the reliability will no longer high with age. I also waiting some response for c4 2011 owner since I join the forum and so far no luck, the owner like to keep the secret only for them

Thanks for your reply. I have been searching high and low for C4 2010 model owner and so far failed. Although there are currently approximately 29 owners of C4 2010 model owners in Malaysia, they have been very quietly enjoying their ride. I am thinking of going to thinking of hanging out at Brooklands service center and just wait for them to service their car so that I can ask them on how is the experience so far.
I am currently aiming for C4 only because DS4 is out of my budget..hehe. I have test drive both C4 and new Ford Focus. Both are equally great to drive. My heart is saying C4 but my head is asking me to buy Focus since it has better after sales support.
Aziz, I've read your previous post on C4 2005 model and it seems that the repair costs is quite high. Is that normal? I hope the 2010 C4 is more reliable.

just wanted to share my opinions..
The choice between the C4 and the Focus, to me, is akin to the choice of either follow your heart (C4) or the choice of your head (Focus)...
But honestly, I have no confidence in Brooklands.. Was looking to buy a Citroen C4 few years ago but I was not happy with the level of support that they are giving Citroen owners. Bought a Pug instead. There's very little promotions on Citroens too. Also, there are rumors of a Naza take-over of Citroen dealerships...which is good news. I like what they did to Peugeot, although they are not perfect, they are doing a much better job than MBF previously..
If Ford and Citroen have comparable levels of support and services, then I would much prefer a C4. But since TonyChoppa posted this question here in the Citroen thread, I think he prefers the Citroen to the Ford

Haha.. you are abolutely correct that 99.9% I'm looking at C4 now. Overall, the quality/design of interior/exterior wins to C4. Now still thinking coz don't want to rush my judgement. So far, I don't see what Focus is better than C4 other than offering 3 years free maintenance and 5 years warranty. From what I heard, the reliability of Ford is quite bad also plus SDAC service sucks.
I don't have much choice as my budget is around RM120-130k and I'm not looking to buying Jap cars. Also I heard from the grapevine that Naza actually already bought Citroen over from Brooklands, but shipment of the car will only start around 2015. Can't wait that long for the C4.. hehe.
For me, C4 is looking more premium than other brands in same price. Now the only thing I'm looking for is someone owning a sec gen C4 to come out and tell their experience since buying one.
Alphawolf,
If you were looking to buy a C4 a few years ago, is it the first gen? Because the second gen just launched in Malaysia last year. The sec gen is so much cooler...

If I was in your shoes, I'd take a look at a second hand/reconned RX-8. You'd have to get to know the Wankel engine and be prepared to maintain it well but if you are looking for a really exciting car for less than (or around) RM100k, this is your boy. 212hp from a 1.3!
That's my dream car anyway, for when I have enough money for a weekend car.

Hello,
Was looking to buy a C4 VTR 2-door Coupe in 2006 1st gen, but at that time I was apprehensive (still is apprehensive) about the after-sales service by Brooklands. I love the C4 coupe, it looks fantastic, cool interior, great ride. Went for a test drive and my heart ached after I decided not to get it

Fast forward a few years to early 2012. My buttocks was itching again to change my ride. Walked into Brooklans Chan Sow Lin and asked for a testdrive in the new C5. Again, no confidence in after sales service, and again, left it behind like Cinderella... walked over to Pug and got a Pug instead.
Citroens are pretty reliable nowadays, as was shown in the WhatCar Reliability Survey, where it's better than Mini, BMW, Volkswagen etc. It's in number 14, whereas Ford is in number 12.
here's the link : http://www.whatcar.c...-to-15th/263555
Citroends has low tolerances for abuse, so it needs special TLC. If NAZA really takes over and gave it the treatment it gave to Peugeot, then there would be a small but ready market for Citroen. But if it's true that shipments only starts on 2015.....

Anyway, it's good to see that you are not conservative in your choices

I have test driven the C4 and DS4. For comfort, go for C4; For more dynamic/fun driving, go for DS4. No comment on Ford Focus but based on the spec sheet, it is very competitive. I suggest you test drive both of them for better comparison.
