Where I come from, Citroens have a terrible reputation for reliability. That said, you can always get lucky with an unreliable brand or get unlucky with a reliable brand. I drove a Proton here for 5 years and had no problems (apart from the windows).
Peugeot have a slightly better reputation but you'll see that the top selling cars in the UK are usually German (or mostly German). Vauxhall = Opel (German). Ford (made in Germany).
In recent times, the Japs haven't been keeping up and the Europeans (particularly the Germans) have filled the gap with better tech and diesel engines.

Have you been driving a Citroen car before? If yes, then you are one of those who bought it, if not, dont just comment based on hear say hear say .....
I owned citroen, peugeot, honda, toyota ..... seriously, japanese car especially from toyota is a day light robbery....low spec, high price. I regretted about selling off my camry (5gen), because the upcoming 7th generation also featuring the same engine adn gear box but price increase as well as fully CKD......otherwise, the 10 years old camry would have the same engine and gearbox as the latest one....so, technically it is not that dated as well.....

Yah, no problem doesnt mean a lot of things...it is also about what you get....when there is nothing in it, the chances of problem is less of course. secondly, when you buy a huge house vs a small house, practically the small house would give you less problem, because you have less equipment, less area, less piping, less electrical adn electronics, etc.
Unless you are just looking for a car for transporting you from A to B, then you dont even need a proton...perhaps a cheaper perodua can do......some people have more expectation on car...it is not right or wrong, it is their own preference and the way they spend their money...
