At that kind of pricing, a lot of people are considering a certain diamond badge which costs less and has as similar power output

Previously when I enquire about the Golf, I was told to seek advise from a close friend which is in VW, Honda Type R, Subaru club overseas.
Since he was using a Golf R, his advise was to get R rather than Golf if you can afford it. Coz overseas, it just slightly more, in comparison to Malaysia where difference can go from several RM 10,000 or even RM100,000++
His remark in comparison to Subaru STi and Honda S2000 that he owned previously and Honda Type R models was in contradiction though.
That Golf R don't really meet up with his expectation and that "it was only OK" as compared to cars from the same category.
From there, the thought of paying a premium to own the Golf R puts one off to look at some "real sport cars" if one is looking into a performance car.
p.s DSG gearbox wise, if you are afraid it may fail you; get a manual and it solve all the worries!
Cheers!
