Hi all Diesel car users,

I just got my D-Max 3.0 last Sat. Then I directly go install tinted, change to Bridgestone A/T tyre, and install Locktech.

While the sifu was installing the Locktech, he accidentally touched the "brake cable" with the Locktech. Then my car brake was clamped smile_angry.gif I patah balik to the shop after around 20km of travel. And I had run around 40km with the brake in clamped condition. The problem had been fixed after the sifu noticed that the "brake cable" was touching with the Locktech.

But now my brake had some sound when I pressed it deep/hard (especially when I brake to totally stop the car). Is it because of the brake pads was overheat? Any solutions for the brake sound?

Congratulations on your new purchase. A question for you as a owner, does the D-Max have three-point seat belts for the middle rear passenger?

Hi all D-Max users,

Another question here. Do you all change the engine oil after the first 1000km?

Inside the manual is every 5000km, didn't mention that the engine oil need to be replaced after 1000km.

But for cars like proton and perodua, the first 1000km should change engine oil.

Hi, any Isuzu D-Max owners here???

I went to Isuzu Service Center at Kelana Jaya last Wednesday. They got 3 type of engine oil: 1) Petronas Syntium 1000, 2) Petronas Syntium 800 and 3) Petronas Urania Supremo CJ-4.

Petronas Syntium 1000= Fully Synthetic 15W50, Grade API SM/CF

Petronas Syntium 800= Semi Synthetic 10W40, Grade API SM/CF

Petronas Urania Supremo CJ-4= 15W40, Grade CJ-4/SM

Out of the 3, I prefer Petronas Urania Supremo CJ-4, which has highest grade of API CJ-4 for the diesel engine. However, I saw from the internet such that CJ-4 is not good for diesel with high sulfur (in Malaysia is just Euro 2). So, if I use the CJ-4 and I change the engine oil every 5000km will it cause any problem to the engine???

For the Petronas Syntium engine oils, are them designed to be used in diesel car also???

I'm not sure about Petronas but Caltex Delo 400 supposed to be one of the best for diesel engine recommended by many. Talking to mechanics, they said Delo 400 can go 7000km before the next service. Bus/lorry companies are buying in bulk and understand they service the engine only every 10,000km with Delo 400.

no need to use syn unless you have plenty of disposal income because it's recommendable to svc every 5,000 kms owing to our Euro II diesel. I use delo 400 (multi grade mineral) and have been very prompt with 5,000 kms and the engine now aged almost 5 years but treating me very well. chnage oil filter too ya.

Yup, good quality multi grade mineral is good enough, keep to 5000km per svc. Kiasu then 4000km service then. smile_tongue.gif

Hi all,

I do my tyre rotation recently, and check alignment as well. My factory setting for the caster angle is:

Left: 1.66 positive
Right: 3.39 positive

I didn't allow the workshop to change the caster angle. Just set the camber to 0 and toe in 0.5mm each side.

My question is, why Isuzu set the caster angle such that the right side is twice of the left side? Is it normal?
