The problem is with local distributor, not French engineering! French engineering is not unreliable, it the failure to maintain in accordance with prescribed procedures! Public has given chance, time and whatever you want to call it! There is no sign of improvement.
Don't worry, if no diesel, the petrol 2.0 variant Focus 2012 is very good. Even better because it shares most components with S-Max and Mondeo which means less worry on spare part. If wanted to sell more, can give 1.6L engine that is fitted in Fiesta. Focus MkIII:
1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT (EFI/MPI)
125ps/92kW@6300rpm
159Nm@4000rpm
2.0 L Ti-VCT I4 (GDI)
170ps/125kW@6600rpm
202Nm@4450rpm
My comment is very impressive engine tech and 6ATgearbox. Only thing I dislike about the new Focus is the curve of the headlamp at inner part near grill, should have sharp edge like MkII facelifted Focus which is very nice. Also the bumper lower grille looks awkward a bit. Else, I would give it 100% score. Should have follow Fiesta front style a bit. If 2.0L Focus is priced at RM112k, then the 1.6L should be near RM100k.
