Zerotohundred.com's Time to Attack series, organized to commemorate the portal's 10th anniversary, came to a stirring conclusion last weekend. The final round of the series, dubbed 'The Finale', was a special invitation-only outing which the fastest drivers of the previous three rounds were invited to lock horns one last time.
The time to beat this time round was 2:28.249, set by Lai Wee Sing in Kazama Racing's Honda Civic Type R. Farriz Fauzy, who set the previous record of 2:30.421 in the first round, reclaimed his position at the top with a mind-blowing time of 2:19.785 in his Links-Mofaz Racing Nissan GT-R.
Farriz threw the gauntlet early on by recording a time of 2:23.609 in his first hot lap, with his car wearing semi-slick tyres and competing in the Supercars class. He later swapped in a set of full slicks and went on to compete in the Time Attack Machines class.
Ronnie Chen was the second fastest finisher of the day, clocking 2:25.796 with his Ascendant Motorsports Porsche 997 Turbo. Ling Ken Ji, denied the crown of Round 3 right at the end last time, improved his time, but have to make do with third placing having clocked 2:26.331 in his HKS Garage-R Nissan Silvia S15.
The overwhelming success of the Time to Attack series have now prompted Zerotohundred.com to put in motion plans for a Time to Attack 2011 series next year.
