Shell Malaysia has introduced a new range of Helix motor oils for 2012, comprising of seven products to cater for various motoring needs. The portfolio now includes a new ‘Fuel Economy’ product, namely the HX7 E semi-synthetic oil, to meet growing market demand for fuel efficiency.

According to Shell, the Helix HX7 E is formulated with special synthetic base oils and friction-reducing molecules. A notable property of the oil is its low viscosity at low temperatures, meaning that it remains sufficiently thin to flow during cold starts, and become thick enough to do its job as the engine heats up. It also features Shell’s Active Cleansing Technology, said to be able to effectively remove sludge and resist degradation.

Participation in the contest is open to customers who purchase a 4L pack of Shell Helix Ultra fully synthetic motor oil or the range of HX7 synthetic technology (semi-synthetic) motor oil. Customers have to count the number of Shell Helix words in an image on entry form and submit their entries at selected Shell stations, authorised workshops or by mail with proof of purchase.

The contest runs from 15 March to 31 May 2012, with fifteen finalists set to battle it out at the Shell Helix Challenge in July for their shot at the five coveted seats.
