Mazda CX-30 AWD Variant Now Available In Malaysia
Bermaz, the official distributor of Mazda in Malaysia, has announced that the 2020 Mazda CX-30 crossover will include a AWD (all-wheel-drive) variant. Priced at RM176,059 (on the road without insurance), the CX-30 2.0L SKYACTIV-G AWD sits atop the range in terms of price, and is fully imported from Japan like the rest of the variants.
The 2.0L SKYACTIV-G AWD variant makes use of Mazda’s proprietary i-ACTIV all-wheel-drive system which supports driving over a wide range of road surfaces, including rough roads. The AWD system has real-time monitoring of road conditions and detects tiny variations in wheel speed that a driver would never have noticed. This detection helps the system to proactively distribute torque between the front wheels and rear. This can range from the CX-30 being a full front-drive to an all-wheel-drive. The system not only provides solid and predictable handling, it makes driving on poor road surfaces more efficient by reducing wasteful tyre slippage.
Also included with the i-ACTIV AWD system is the Off-road Traction Assist system. This system works by distributing the driving force to the tyres that are in contact with the road surface to maximise traction. Apart from the i-ACTIV AWD system and the Off-road Traction Assist System, the CX-30 2.0L SKYACTIV-G AWD retains the same specification as the 2.0L SKYACTIV-G High spec variant.
All High spec variants of the CX-30 have front and rear LED lights with signature illumination, powered sunroof, powered tailgate, front and rear parking sensors, paddle shifters, dual zone climate control, rear air vents, 10-way adjustable powered driver’s seat with two-position memory, 8.8″ infotainment display, two USB ports, reverse camera, i-Stop idling, and G-Vectoring Control Plus.
Also limited to the High variants is Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety features such as Adaptive Front Lighting System, High Beam Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Smart Brake Support (Front and Rear), and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (adaptive cruise).
Additionally, the 2.0L SKYACTIV-G standard variant has been updated to include Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry as well as Walk Away Lock feature for more convenience.
The Mazda CX-30 is 2.0L SKYACTIV-G petrol engine produces 162 hp and 213 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission with manual shift mode. You also have the choice of a 1.8L SKYACTIV-D turbo diesel engine which produces 114 hp and 270 Nm if you need better fuel consumption.
Exterior colour choices include Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Sonic Silver, Snowflake White Pearl, Titanium Flash and Polymetal Gray Metallic.
All new Mazda vehicles come with 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standards and includes labour, parts and lubricants. Both Manufacturer Warranty and Free Maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
