All-New Lexus ES and New Lexus RX Arrive in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, 10 September, 2019 – The all-new Lexus and the new Lexus RX 300 is in town, launched tonight in a grand fashion by Lexus Malaysia.
Both models feature a number of latest technological features amidst the typical luxury fittings that has been the hallmark of every Lexus ever since the first one was launched in 1989.

Lexus ES
The new Lexus ES is all-new, and built on Lexus’ global platform. It is wider, longer by 50mm, and more low slung than its predecessor, and has a wheelbase of 2,870mm. Visually the ES is wider, lower, and longer.
Adopting a theme of Provocative Elegance, the Lexus ES supposedly features a design that exudes ‘smart sportiness, from a coupe-like sloping rear. Handling is mooted to be excellent, based on the nomenclature of the new platform, which boasts of Macpherson struts at the front and a double wishbone arrangement for the rear.
Inside, the ES comes with an array of impressive features that make it one of the most dynamic and safest executive saloons in its class, while roominess has been improved with its increase in size and wheelbase. A lot of attention has been given to the quality and finish of interior features, something that is very ‘Lexus’.
Safety-wise, the Lexus ES comes with the latest version of Lexus Safety System (LSS), making it one of the safest saloons in its class.
Features include Pre-Collision System (PCS) that utilizes a combination of Radar and Camera, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) (that gently steers you back into your lane). Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with Stop & Go function, and Active Cornering Assist.
The Lexus ES is powered by an in-line 4-Cylinder, 2.5 litre engine with VVTiE (With intelligence). Drive is to the front wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Retail price for the Lexus ES (P Malaysia) is RM299,888.
Lexus RX300
The Lexus RX300 comes with a 2.0 litre turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine that develops 235 HP and 350 Nm of torque, which appears to be the same power plant that is found in the NX300. Drive is to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Three variants are available, namely the Premium, Luxury and F-Sport. Prices start at RM399,888 for P Malaysia. Three drive modes are available for the driver to select, while the F-Sport variant has four.
A unique feature of the AWD system is the Dynamic Friction Control dampers for front and rear, while the F-Sport gets Adaptive Variable Suspension.
In terms of safety equipment, the RX also gets the Lexus Safety System that includes Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist and Active Cornering Assist.
