Since its launch in 2016, more than 50,000 units have been sold, and the Civic is claimed to have captured 82 percent of the C-Segment market share in Malaysia as of July 2019.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Toichi Ishiyama said, “Over the years, the Civic continues to hold the leadership position in the C-segment. It has sold more than 133,000 units in Malaysia since its first introduction in 2001 and celebrated a historical milestone with the delivery of the 130,000th Civic in early May this year. We are confident that the New Civic will not only continue to live up to its name, but also offer D-segment features with a sportier appearance and dynamic performance. The New Civic is the third Completely Knock-Down (CKD) model from Honda Malaysia to be introduced with Honda SENSING – the Next Generation Advanced Safety Technology – which offers a complete package that we believe will be attractive to customers in Malaysia.”DSC_2357

According to a release by Honda Malaysia, it seems that the 1.8 litre version has been discontinued, as it only mentions the 1.5 litre VTEC Turbo engine, which delivers 173PS of power and maximum torque of 220Nm. This engine is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Further strengthening the value of the New Civic as the Game Changer, this model now comes with FULL Honda SENSING, the Next Generation Advanced Safety Technology which provides comfort, convenience and most importantly safety. Honda SENSING delivers three categories of safety suites that comprise eight features. They are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High-Beam (AHB) – all of which will provide Driver’s Cruising Aid, Frontal Collision Deterrence and Side Collision Deterrence.

This is a camera-based technology in favour of blind-spot monitoring that enhances the driver’s view of left side traffic and provides a better view compared to using only the side view mirror. Other standard features in the New Civic are Remote Engine Start, Electric Parking Brake and the latest feature, the Front Sensor. These additional features help provide convenience for the driver. It also comes with standard safety features including Six Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and ISO Fix.

DSC_2558Refreshed with sportier and refined exterior, the New Civic appears superior and sophisticated with exciting new features for its overall styling that complements with Honda Signature LED Headlights and LED Front Fog Lights. Some of the new features include a New Front Bumper, New Rear Bumper Garnish, New Tailgate Spoiler, New Black Painted Front Grille and New 18-inch Alloy Wheel to further enhance its sportiness.
