Audi Introduces Q2 Compact SUV In Malaysia; RM219,900

Audi Q2_Launch_MalaysiaAudi has introduced the Q2 compact SUV in Malaysia with a retail price of RM219,900 on-the-road (without insurance). The Audi Q2 is powered by a 1.4L TFSI turbocharged engine with cylinder deactivation. The COD (cylinder on demand) system deactivates the second and third cylinders at loads up to 100 Nm, and while coasting at engine speeds between 1,400 and 3,200 rpm. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission and maximum power output stands at 150 hp and 250 Nm, while average combined fuel consumption is rated at 5.2 litres per 100 km. The Q2 is fitted with 17″ cast alloy wheels and does 0 – 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds.

Aimed at the youthful and progressive, the Audi Q2 is developed with “a distinctively geometric form language with special design characteristics specific to this model” according to Audi Head of Design, Marc Lichte.

Audi Q2_Side View_Malaysia_LaunchWith a 2.60-metre long wheelbase, the Q2’s body measures 4.19 metres long, 1.51 metres tall, 1.79 metres wide. At the front is the octagonal Singleframe grille positioned high with large air inlets, flanked by LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and headlight washers. The rear light cluster is also LED, with dynamic turn signals. The wing mirrors are powered and have heating function. One of the eye-catching exterior features is the color offset blades on the C-pillars.

Audi Q2_Dashboard_MalaysiaThe interior of the Q2 is treated with leather and red anodised paint inlays for a sporty look. Occupants in the front also get the sporty treatment with sport seats with height adjustment. The driver gets a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with multifunction plus. Climate control is also standard, as are USB charging ports. The boot volume is 405 litres that can be increased to 1,050 litres when the rear seats are folded.

Driving features include the Audi drive select handling system that allows the driver to choose from five modes – Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual. It influences a variety of vehicle systems including the steering and gear shift characteristics as well as the optional suspension with adaptive damper control (the Q2 is fitted with Comfort suspension as standard). With ESC Off-road mode and nearly 15 cm of ground clearance, the Q2 is also well-suited to rugged terrain.

Audi Q2_MMI Navigation Plus_Display Screen_Malaysia_LaunchOther standard features include comfort key, start/stop system, cruise control, heat-insulating glass for side and rear windows, light/rain sensors, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, tire pressure monitoring system, power-operated child safety lock, child seat anchors in front, ISOFIX anchors in rear seats, hold assist, auto-dimming frameless rear view mirror, MMI Navigation Plus infotainment, 10-speaker Audi Sound System with 6-channel amplifier, Parking Aid Plus with rear camera, and the Audi virtual cockpit.

Q2 customers can also configure the look with add-on parts, which vary according to the trim line (Design or Sport), to give the SUV a sporty or typical off-road appearance. The Audi Genuine Accessories are either factory-installed options or retrofit equipment from an Audi partner that offer additional customization solutions: add-on parts of carbon, the off-road style package and film designs for many areas of the body.

Optional interior choices include a selection of colors like yellow, orange and red for inlays, sections of the seats and contrasting stitching. Inlays are also available in white plastic or brushed aluminum. Further, seat upholstery choices range from high-end fabrics to fine Nappa leather. There is also the LED lighting package for interior ambience. In the top version, LED light guides illuminate the sculpted inlays at the front of the instrument panel and the centre console with homogeneous light. Drivers can use the MMI to choose from ten colors.
