Honda Sets New BR-V Sales Target For 2017

Honda BR-V Launch Malaysia Side ViewHonda Malaysia launched its entry-level 7-seater in early January 2017 and in the succeeding 6 months has raked in sales of nearly 11,000 units; exceeding the company’s initial target of 10,000 units annually. With this achievement, Honda Malaysia has set a new sales target of 15,000 units, a 50% increase from the initial target, for the remainder of 2017. The BR-V is currently the segment leader in the non-national category.

The higher of the 2 variants available, the V variant, takes most of the cake at approximately 80% while the
most popular color choices are Taffeta White (27% of sales) and Modern Steel Metallic (25%).

Not surprising, the Klang Valley has the highest number of BR-Vs (44%) while the south, 20% and north, 18%. It’s also making inroads in East Malaysia, which makes up 10% of the sales figure (exceeding the company’s estimate of 6%).

According to Honda Malaysia, the BR-V buyers are mostly upgraders from the national brands and also non-national segment car buyers looking for a budget bigger vehicle.

JpegHonda Malaysia is committed to keeping the delivery period for the BR-V at 1 to 2 months. The BR-V is assembled in its plant in Pegoh, Melaka.
