The Volkswagen Beetle Dune – Only 50 Units @ RM 180k

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has made available just 50 units of the new Volkswagen Beetle Dune. Imported from Mexico, the Beetle Dune retails for RM 179,990 (excluding registration and insurance).

The Beetle Dune is powered by the 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine which produces 150 PS between 5,000 – 6,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1,500 – 3,500 rpm. It is paired to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission that sends the power to the front wheels. The Beetle Dune runs the century sprint in 8.8 seconds and hits the limit at 200 km/h. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 5.5 liters / 100 km.

In Dune guise, Beetle receives a more aggressive front bumper, a dual tone rear spoiler, skid plates, side sill finishers, matte body molding, LED tail lights, silver door mirrors and Dune decals. Ride height has been increased by 10 mm to give it a more rugged, off-road-y appearance; it also gets 18″ ‘Canyon’ alloy wheels.

The cabin of the Beetle Dune gets the same mustard yellow treatment as the exterior, with yellow stitching on the steering wheel, handbrake lever, gearshift gaiter and floor mats; a Dune badge sits on the bottom spoke of the steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in “Vienna” leather, and there’s a Climatronic dual-zone climate control, a multi-function steering wheel and a Composition Media infotainment system with a 6.5″ touchscreen.
