Budget 2017: RM4k Rebate For Proton Iriz Used For Ride-Sharing
Last week, during the tabling of the 2017 Budget, it was announced that a RM 4,000 rebate will be given on the Proton Iriz for its purchase to be used by ride-sharing drivers. This move is aimed at helping uplift the livelihood of the B40 (those with household income of up to RM3,855) income earners who desire to work in the ride-sharing business i.e. as GrabCar / Uber drivers.
Proton has stated its appreciation to the government to support the national car and provide tangible growth and economic opportunities. It is also excited to be part of the ride-sharing industry as the move is seen as a vision to drive Malaysia forward through technological innovation and creating economic opportunities for many in the country.
