All New Honda Brio
The Honda Brio is already on sale in Thailand, and is an A Class vehicle. The Brio features a gasoline powered 1.2 litre 4-cylinder iVtec engine, producing 89 horsepower, and is presented as a 5-door hatchback. Seating capacity is four adults comfortably, and five if you do not mind a squeeze at the rear. Interior trim quality is pretty high, although this is meant as an entry-level Honda.
The engine is tuned for high fuel efficiency, and promises 20 kilometres per litre of fuel (5.0 litres/100 kilometres). Power is transmitted through to the front wheels via a CVT (Constantly Variable Transmission).
The Brio is 3,610mm long from nose to tail, and is wide at 1,680mm. Its 1,485 height and wide opening doors make for easy ingress and egress.
This would be a great first car for Honda fans. Checking with my sources indicates the Brio will be coming to Malaysia soon, and it has been indicated that the selling price here will be lower than the current Honda City, but from what I hear, it will not be very much lower.
Selling price in Thailand is 508,500 baht, which converts roughly to RM51k; For Malaysia, there are no plans for CKD, according to my source, so it means CBU, with some duties to be paid.
