Proton picks up two awards from Frost & Sullivan

Last week, Proton picked up a pair of trophies from the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards held at the Sheraton Imperial hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The Proton Saga and and Proton Exora were awarded Best Passenger Model Car of the Year and Best Automotive Debut Model of the Year respectively.

The two accolades are Proton’s first since the Persona won Best Model of The Year in 2008. Picking them up was Proton MD, Dato’ Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, who said, “This award recognises the success of PROTON as a company by the industry.”

“This is a true indication of how the company has progressed – and the timing could not have been more appropriate as this year, PROTON is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. It is truly inspiring to be able to see how far we have come – how PROTON has managed to rise above the different challenges and hurdles through the years. To succeed in providing competitively priced, good quality vehicles to all our customers has been truly motivating,” he continued.

The Saga and Exora were evaluated on a variety of market performance indicators which include revenue growth; market share and growth in market share; leadership in product innovation; marketing strategy and business development strategy.
