Nicky Hayden fastest in SIC MotoGP testing

The first MotoGP pre-season test for 2008 concluded today at Sepang International Circuit with 2006 champion Nicky Hayden clocking an impressive 2 minutes 0.326seconds to top the lap chart in Sepang International Circuit.

The Repsol Honda rider covered a massive 77 laps as he took sole responsibility to develop the 2008 Honda RC212V in the absence of team-mate Dani Pedrosa. Dani Pedrosa suffered a broken right arm when he crashed on the first day of testing.

Fastest in the first two days, Randy de Puniet was 11th fastest with 2minutes 01.873 seconds in the final as he suffered another crash – this time just before noon when negotiating Turn 2.

Clocking 2 minutes 0.660 seconds, world champion Casey Stoner was second fastest while MotoGP rookie Jorge Lorenzo was third fastest with 2 minutes766 seconds on his Yamaha YZR-M1.

Team-mate and five-time MotoGP champion, Valentino Rossi was sixth fastest today with 2 minutes 2 minutes 1.245 seconds.
