5 Gen.2s to be won in the Proton Gen.2 Jejak Merdeka Hunt
Petaling Jaya, 1 August 2005 – There are 5 units of brand new Proton Gen.2s to be won in the Proton Gen.2 Jejak Merdeka treasure hunt, scheduled for 31 August 2005, in conjunction with the Merdeka Celebrations.
The event was officially launched by En Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha, CEO of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd, at the Proton Edar Premier showroom in Mutiara Damansara. He said, “A thousand Gen.2s from all over the country, except for Sabah and Sarawak, are expected to take part in this event.
The Gen.2 Jejak Merdeka event is open to all, as long as you enter the event in a Gen.2 car. Minimum participants in a car is two, and maximum is four. The hunt shall start simultaneously from Penang, Kuantan, Melaka, and also from the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam on 31st August. Each of the legs represents one of the four colours of the Malaysian flag, and the competitors shall converge at the First World hotel in Genting Highlands for the prize presentation in the evening.
Ceremonial starts shall be held at various Eon and Proton Edar branches on 30th August, one day before the event for participants from the smaller cities to get to the main starting points for each leg. Hotel accommodation shall be arranged at the participating hotels that are hosting the start on Merdeka day. Each leg would have its own set of winners, and the total value of prizes including the cost of the 5 units of Gen.2s, is RM440,000.00
Entry fees for those requiring one night’s stay in Genting would be RM180.00 per head, while those who require an additional night’s stay at the start venues would incur a fee of RM260.00 per head.
