African bushbaby sighted in KL
Remember those eyes in the Land Rover banner ad a couple of weeks back? Well, that cute animal was a bushbaby – which has the scientific name of galago – and it hangs out in African forests. It’s a long-tailed lemur which comes out at night, has dense wooly fur and when it does a mighty leap, it can cover 4 metres in one bound.
The bushbaby was in KL recently… as an image at least. Many motorists may have seen the cute fella on a crate being towed behind a Discovery, the purpose being to publicise the arrival of the new locally-assembled Freelander V6.
The reason for adopting the bushbaby as a ‘mascot’ of sorts is because of its nocturnal character and because it is active at night, its eyes are highly developed and see especially well in dark conditions.
Those are the same qualities found in the new headlamps of the Freelander. The twin pocket clear headlamps improve the range and beam spread by up to 70% as well as deliver whiter light.
There are other noteworthy features in the new Freelander and you can also try out its superior 4WD system and Hill Descent Control by visiting the Land Rover showroom in Kuala Lumpur where they have a unique course for customers to use.
