Ron Rules!

Malaysian veteran racer Ron Lim proved he still has what it takes to win. Starting from the front row, Ron, in a space frame RX7, believed to be pulling around 500 horsepower, trailed Jimmy Low in a TVR for half distance before snatching the lead and holding it to the finish in the 10 lap race. It appeared to be a cat and mouse game played by Ron, holding back in the initial stages to size up the competition, and piling on the pressure as the race progressed. Running as a self-sponsored privateer, Ron drove with some reserve to preserve the car for the next day’s race.

Second of course was Jimmy Low, driving a TVR, finishing a full 37 seconds behind Ron. Third was Tommy Lee in the Team Breakaway Putra 4WD. JP Chin in a Subaru WRX was fourth.

Within the same race, in the Super 16 Class, Lau Seng Kiat narrowly won the class from Admi Shahrul. Third was Eric Yeo. All of the top three were in Honda Civics.
