New Honda Dealers Appointed
DRB-Oriental Honda (DOH)has announced the appointment of five new dealers in the Klang Valley area where the largest number of Hondas are sold in the country. According to an official statement released this evening, the additional dealer appointments are in line with DOH’s policy to increase its sales network, thereby improving the service coverage for all Honda customers and also in preparation for the completion of the Melaka manufacturing plant in January 2003.
Two of the dealers are in Subang Jaya, one is in the Cheras area, a fourth is in the Setapak area and the fifth is in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. With the addition of these new dealers, the Honda network now totals 38 nationwide (plus another twelve dealers offering service only).
It is known that a few months ago, a certain number of DOH-appointed dealers which had been part of the Kah Motors group had chosen to withdraw as they preferred to switch to Kah-Bintang branches to sell Hyundais. Also, one dealer in Kuching voluntarily resigned and because of these unexpected developments, DOH has speedily found the new dealers to ensure that its network in the Klang Valley is comprehensive enough for customers’ convenience.
Business operations at the new dealerships will commence at their temporary premises from the 1st week of December 2001 and each dealership will offer the full model line-up of locally-assembled models, ie Honda City, Civic, Accord and CR-V. They will provide full service – sales, service and spare parts – under one roof at their permanent premises which are presently under construction.
