Chery Malaysia Launches TIGGO CROSS Compact SUV
Chery Malaysia has officially launched the Tiggo Cross, an all-new contender in the compact SUV segment. This model brings together modern design, practical utility, and intelligent features in a city-savvy package.

The launch marks the latest addition to Chery’s expanding Malaysian portfolio, with the brand now represented by 58 outlets nationwide. Since its market debut in July 2023, Chery has introduced 4 models locally, with more expected in the second half of 2025.
Intelligent Powertrain Choices
The Tiggo Cross is available in 2 variants: petrol and petrol hybrid.
The petrol version features a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a 6-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), offering 147 PS (145 hp) and 210 Nm of torque. Its claimed fuel efficiency is 6.3L/100km.
Meanwhile, the Hybrid CSH (Chery Super Hybrid) variant combines a 96 PS (95 hp) Miller cycle petrol engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 204 PS (201 hp) and 310 Nm, running it through Chery’s Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). This one delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 5.4L/100km and has an extended driving range of up to 1,000 km. Having a 51-litre fuel tank ensures you make fewer stops on longer trips.
There is little physical difference between the 2 variants. The most obvious is the use of 18″ alloy wheels on the turbo and slightly smaller 17″ alloy wheels on the hybrid to optimize fuel efficiency. The Tiggo Cross measures 4,318 mm (l) x 1,830 mm (w) x 1,670 (h), with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm and a ground clearance of 185 mm. Boot space is 380 litres and here is where you’ll find another difference between the 2 as the hybrid will have a slight bump on the boot floor due to the relocation of the 12v battery to the rear.
Designed For Comfort And Connectivity
Inside, the Tiggo Cross features dual zone climate control controlled via a touch panel, and a 20.5″ infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. There are also a wireless charger, multiple USB ports, and steering wheel audio controls.
Furthermore, the Voice Assistant allows for easy voice-activated commands for functions such as adjusting air-conditioning or selecting music.

Hybrid Drive Intelligence
For those who pick the hybrid variant, the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system includes:
- EV Mode – Fully electric drive
- Tandem Mode – Engine generates electricity; motor powers wheels
- Parallel Mode – Engine and motor power combined
- Direct Engine Mode – Engine drives the vehicle directly (speeds above 80 km/h)
- Energy Recovery Mode – Regenerative braking and coasting recharge the battery
The hybrid system features a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, high-density hybrid transmission, and advanced energy management for extended lifespan and improved safety.

- Tiggo Cross Petrol: Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, Blood Stone Red
- Tiggo Cross Hybrid: Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, Moonlight Silver
Both variants come with:
- 7-year / 150,000 km warranty
- 8-year / 160,000 km warranty for battery pack, motor, and hybrid control unit (Hybrid only)
- 7-year free towing service (terms & conditions apply)

The Chery Tiggo Cross petrol is priced at RM88,800 while the Tiggo Cross CSH hybrid is priced at RM99,800.
In conjunction with the launch, Chery Malaysia presented RM50,000 to YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports, in support of the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN). The contribution highlights Chery Malaysia’s commitment to the national sports project and local athletes. KWASN supports tournament organisation and athlete participation through grants to associations and individuals.
