Porsche Malaysia Launches Locally Assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé

Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, has officially launched the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s local assembly efforts. The sporty SUV, now the second model to be assembled in Malaysia, is also the first Porsche model assembled in the country for regional export. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé is available now with prices starting from RM728,000.

This latest model comes with an enhanced suite of standard features, a redesigned exterior, an efficient hybrid powertrain offering up to 90 kilometres of electric range, and customisation options tailored for the Malaysian market. 

“Since establishing our local assembly facility in Malaysia in 2022, Porsche has reached several key milestones that highlight the importance of this market. In just one year, more than 1,000 locally assembled Cayennes have been delivered to Malaysian customers, a clear indication of the strong demand and the trust placed in the Porsche brand,” commented Mr. Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

Sporty, Expressive Design

The new Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé showcases an expressive and athletic design. Malaysian buyers can also choose from Carrara White Metallic, Chromite Black Metallic, and Dolomite Silver Metallic exterior colours at no extra cost. The SUV rides on standard 20″ Cayenne S Design wheels finished in Vesuvius Grey that further enhances its sporty and luxurious appearance.

The vehicle comes standard with redesigned HD Matrix LED headlights, featuring 2 high-definition modules and over 32,000 pixels per headlamp, ensuring optimum visibility and safety. 

Luxurious Technology-Packed Interior

Inside, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé is packed with premium features. For the first time, a GT Sports steering wheel and the Sport Chrono package with a Porsche Design clock are included as standard, highlighting the vehicle’s sporty nature and luxury.

Additional standard features include a premium BOSE surround sound system, a choice of smooth-finish leather upholstery in either Black or Bordeaux Red, 4-zone climate control, interior air quality ioniser, 14-way adjustable comfort seats with a memory package, and electric roll-up sunblinds for the rear side windows.

Driver assistance systems are also enhanced, incorporating features like Adaptive Cruise Control, ParkAssist with Surround View, and smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay. Rear Seat Entertainment pre-wiring also comes standard, with the option to install a pair of rear screens for passengers. 

The new Porsche Driver Experience includes a 12.6″ curved instrument cluster and a 12.3″ infotainment screen. The automatic gear selector has been moved to the dashboard, creating more space in the centre console for storage compartments and a large air conditioning controller. Large, easily accessible controls combined with mechanical air conditioning switches and volume controller ensure optimum usability and a refined look.

Efficient Hybrid Performance

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé combines the dynamic capabilities of the Cayenne S with the advanced hybrid technology of the Cayenne E-Hybrid. The 3.0L V6 turbo engine produces 260 kW (353 PS), which is 36 kW (49 PS) more than the Cayenne E-Hybrid. Combined with the electric motor, the system delivers a total output of 382 kW (519 PS).

This hybrid SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 263 km/h. Meanwhile, its electric-only range is up to 90 km (EAER City), making it suitable for daily urban commutes. 

Enhanced Comfort And Handling

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé comes fitted with a new adaptive air suspension which includes the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with 2-chamber, 2-valve technology. This system enhances the driving experience, stabilises the vehicle, and simplifies handling on- and off-road. The adaptive air suspension also offers more distinct differentiation between Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus driving modes.
