Chery Malaysia Presents All-Electric Omoda E5 To MITI

Earlier, Chery Malaysia presented the all-electric Omoda E5 to the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz. The EV was presented by Chairman of Chery Automobile Co. Ltd., Mr. Yin Tong Yue, who was here on a business visit, along with top Chery executives such as President of Chery International, Mr. Zhang Gui Bing, and Vice President of Chery International, Mr. Chen Chun Qing.

The chairman of Chery Automobile and his delegation of senior executives were in Kuala Lumpur to learn about the local market and explore opportunities in the Malaysia automotive scene. To gain a clearer understanding of Malaysia’s new automotive policies and trends, the senior executives held discussions with Malaysian automotive market players, Chery dealers investors, and other key industry representative during the visit.

All parties exchanged views on the progress of crucial projects in Malaysia and also delved into topics such as the development strategy of Chery Malaysia, and the rollout of new energy vehicles. Chery is committed to Malaysia’s new energy vehicle development and contributing to the growth of the local automotive industry.

Chery’s leaders also expressed gratitude to the partners for their support in driving the group’s development in Southeast Asia. They hope to explore new models, optimise delivery of new services, leverage on local knowledge to bring more high quality and diverse choices to Malaysian consumers.

Chery’s Omoda sub-brand’s latest export data released in October showed that its global cumulative export volume had exceeded 130,000 vehicles. This success can be attributed to Omoda’s performance and reputation in the respective local markets. October also saw the Omoda brand launched in other Southeast Asian markets such as Vietnam, laying an important tone for Omoda’s growth in the Southeast Asia.
