RISDA Fleet Adds New Hino 700 Series Prime Movers
RISDA Fleet Sdn Bhd, the transportation services company of RISDA Holdings Group of Companies, has added new Hino prime movers to its fleet. Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and its dealer, Soon Seng Motors Enterprise (1988) Sdn Bhd, recently handed over 4 units of Hino 700 SS1EKRA to RISDA Fleet to add to its fleet.
RISDA Fleet, which was established in 2002, is an existing Hino customer. RISDA is a subsidiary of the Rubber Smallholders Development Authority (KRH) which is an agency under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW). RISDA Fleet serves as the logistics division for both RISDA and KRH, facilitating the distribution of agricultural input subsidies as part of the RISDA rubber replanting program, primarily benefiting rubber smallholders in Malaysia.
“On the occasion of RISDA’s 50th anniversary, we extend our gratitude to RISDA Fleet for entrusting us as a transportation solution. We are honoured to contribute to their growth journey with Hino trucks. The HINO Prime Mover is a part of our 700 Series model lineup and signifies our commitment to product quality and safety enhancement,” said Hino Malaysia Director, Ahmad Yasmin Yahya. He, along with Director of Soon Seng Motors Enterprise, Jason Lee, presented the trucks to Chairman of RISDA Fleet, Dato’ Hj Mohamad Sahfri bin Ab Aziz, at the Hino Total Support Customer Centre (HTSCC). Also present as Guest of Honour was Encik Ahmad Zainal bin Abdullah, Deputy Director General of Development, RISDA.
“Hino laid a strong foundation for us, particularly through truck trials and technical support. Their trucks which are designed for reliable operations while maintaining reasonable maintenance costs solidified our choice to integrate more Hino trucks into our fleet,” commented Dato’ Hj Mohamad Sahfri on RISDA Fleet’s strong confidence in the Hino brand.

RISDA Fleet will continue to look at adding more Hino trucks to its fleet as it anticipates a growth in its transport requirements.
The Hino 700 Series SS1EKRA prime mover is fitted with a 16-speed manual transmission and a EURO-3 common-rail diesel engine. Along with the 6×4 axle configuration, it has a GCW (gross combined weight) rating of 70,000 kg. Without stressing the vehicle with high payload, this will increase the lifespan of the vehicle. Furthermore, its fuel consumption is considered economical especially for operations that require high traction and at maximum payload.
One unique feature of the SS1EKRA prime mover is the Inter & Cross Differential Lock which enhances the vehicle’s performance, making it exceptionally suited for challenging terrains, muddy paths, and rough landscape. This feature is of particular significance to RISDA Fleet as its fleet regularly operates in plantations.
Safety is also an important priority for Hino. The truck is equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to prevent skidding, and also includes an Energy-absorbing Steering Column to absorb impacts, providing extra protection for drivers. These safety features enhance overall control and security during hauling operations.
HMSM is also committed to enhancing the driving skills of commercial vehicle operators, which is done through the Hino Total Support Customer Centre in Sendayan Tech Valley. Incidentally, this is the first Hino driver training centre built with a driving track outside of its home country, Japan. RISDA Fleet has enrolled its drivers in HTSCC’ training as it recognises the potential for improving truck operations through enhanced driving proficiency. The training curriculum offers intensive modules focused on driver safety, eco-conscious driving practices, and vehicle familiarity.
