UMW Toyota Saw Growth In First Half Of 2023

For the 6 months ending June 2023, UMW Toyota Motor recorded cumulative sales of 48,659 vehicles, which is a 6% increase over the same 6-month period of 2022 when it sold 45,911 vehicles. Vehicle sales for the month of June 2023 hit 8,559 units for the Toyota brand, and 110 units for Lexus. The combined sales for June (8,669 vehicles) is higher than the 8,004 vehicles recorded for May 2023.

The company expects to continue with its dominant position in the Malaysian market with its product line-up. In June, it had launched the all-new Innova Zenix 7-seater which offers both Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) powertrain options. This launch also marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to carbon-neutrality and sustainability.

Notably, the GR GT Cup Malaysia holds the distinction of being the first and only eSports motor-racing event organised by a Malaysian car company. The finals of this exhilarating tournament are scheduled to take place on 19 and 20 August.
