Riding on the spirit of GAZOO Racing and catering to a more mainstream crowd is the Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport. The Corolla Cross GR Sport is designed to meet the needs of customers seeking an enhanced driving experience, with improved handling and sporty styling.
The Corolla Cross GR Sport features a sporty exterior, with a 2-tone colour package with black accents for the outer mirror, roof and rear spoiler, a more aggressively-styled front grille, 18” GR Sport alloy wheels, clear lens LED rear lamps, and an exclusive rear bumper lower garnish design.
Inside, you will find an all-black interior with red stitching for a sportier feel i.e. the steering wheel (with tilt and telescopic adjustment), seat covers, gear knob and lever boot. Further, the headrests in front are embossed with the GR logo. The GR logo is also present on the push-start button and carpet mat.
The Corolla Cross GR Sport is powered by the same 1.8L ZR-FE Dual VVT-i petrol engine with 139 PS @ 6,400 rpm and 172 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is connected to a 7-Speed CVT with Sequential Shiftmatic. The ‘GR Sport’ enhancement is done to the electric power steering with a Sport ECU which is tuned to improve steering feel and response. Furthermore, the already low centre of gravity has reduced body roll but gets a further special tuning on the front and rear suspension coil springs and struts. A Performance Bar has also been added for improved chassis rigidity to enhance handling by reducing body roll.
All other features of the Corolla Cross GR Sport are similar to the Corolla Cross 1.8V. The features include roof rails, 8-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat and reclining rear seats, 9″ infotainment display (with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay Ready) and powered liftgate with kick sensor.
